Youth Mentor & Facilitator

Are you compassionate, highly motivated, and determined? Could you dedicate yourself to enabling vulnerable and under-served young people to overcome traumatic childhood experiences, navigate complex life histories and become the best they can be?

Hours: 15 hours per week, including some evenings / weekends

Salary: £23,500FTE (Actual £9,527 pa)

Duration: 15 hrs a week. Initial 1-year fixed term contract. Plans to extend this, funding dependant.

The LCT’s mentoring programme is a 12-week programme that supports young people in a face to face 1-2-1 setting in the community. You’ll build relationships with young people 1-2-1 as their mentor, meeting them once a week. You will support them to gain confidence and resilience and navigate their way through challenges and help them to set goals and outline a personal development plan. You will be responsible for a caseload of young people averaging 5 young people at one time. You will liaise with key colleagues and partners, working collaboratively to ensure every young person we support feels heard, knows that they matter, and can aspire to a positive, happy and healthy future where they achieve their full potential.

You’ll also support delivery of our Life Skills Workshops by delivering a range of creative, appealing, rewarding and engaging activities under the set topics of Life Skills.
