Welcoming our new female youth trustee
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, we’re focusing on our newest Trustee. Youth voice is at the heart of our focus and strategy and we’re thrilled to share that we have recently appointed an inspiring young lady onto our Board of Trustees.
Our Board of Trustees is made up of a combination of professionals, many of whom have lived experience which helps to inform their actions. The trustee’s role is to ensure that our charity's work and goals align with its purpose, and to act in the charity's best interests.
Our newest Trustee is18year old Jessie Ford, who has previously been mentored by Life Chance Trust and over the past few years has made huge advances in her lifestyle, outlook and confidence after facing a number of challenges during her younger years. A combination which make her a perfect addition to the board.
Jessie has previously talked to LCT about wanting to help young people gain the confidence to be themselves, “I think if I could reach people and help shift their mindset into thinking: do what makes you happy, you do what feels right for you. That is where the confidence starts and the self-acceptance really starts. If I could reach people, especially my age go through that transition of secondary school to college, and help them believe in themselves” and is thrilled to have a key role within an organisation that helped to change her life.
“We are thrilled to have Jessie on board. We know how much she has to offer us in terms of helping to shape our strategies, as she will be able to draw from her own experiences. Added to that she has boundless enthusiasm and passion to share what she has learned.”
